The Current Market 2010

The current employment market is picking up with Ireland seeing its third consecutive month of job market growth, this is good news for those of you looking for employment. There are jobs out there but the competition is stiff so you need to be prepared to improvise and adapt to new climates. At Vantage Resources we are seeing an increase in demand for Java, Sharepoint and .Net roles but our clients are seeking people with skill-sets that match exactly to their job requirements.

Some professions like Testers, Business Analysts and Project Managers are still taking their time to recover however there are roles out there. The current market downturn is over two years in the running at this stage and as more and more pent up demand comes from business users to commence new enterprise I.T projects we would expect continued growth in contract resourcing over the coming months. If your experiencing any gaps between contracts an idea might be to use the time to get certified in your chosen discipline.

Daily rates and salaries have seen significant reductions over the past two years with constant pressure coming from companies to get value for money from suppliers. Contractor rates are still under pressure and it will be some time before a swing back to past rates occurs. The one exception would be for any new or emerging technology such as Apple App development.

To apply for one of these roles or speak to one of our recruiter email cvcentral@vantage.ie
